Submission Guidelines Page

The Guidelines listed below will help simplify submissions and insure that everyone receives the service
they deserve in a timely manner.

All regular submissions and updates are due at midnight Friday on the last full weekend of
each month.

Newsletter Submissions

All submissions should be sent directly to the editor and should be addressed to "The Carney
Patriot."

Article & News Submissions

"The Carney Patriot" is published in MS Word and converted to PDF for posting on the web site.
Please submit articles as follows:

Using a Windows computer Operating System

- A MS Word file attached to an e-mail.

Using a Macintosh computer Operating System (OS 8.6 or higher)

- A MS Word file attached to an e-mail.

Articles and news may also be submitted by FAX to the number listed on the last page of the current
issue.

Graphics & Photograph Submissions

All graphics and photographs should be submitted as e-mail attachments or given to the editor on
either a CD. Graphic and photograph formats are universal, there are no computer Operating System
requirements.

Format Requirements

- Submissions of graphics and photographs may be made in any recognized digital format (GIF, JPEG,
  PICT, TIFF, etc.), the editor will convert all images as necessary.

- All photographs should be submitted with a minimum resolution of 200 dpi.

- Image names (such as photo1.jpg, etc.) are at the discretion of the sender.

Image Size Requirements

- Graphics should be submitted in their original size, they will be re-sized as necessary.

- Photographs should be a maximum size of 3" wide to fit in one column of the newsletter. There is no
maximum length although photos longer than the column on the page will be cropped.

Captions for Photographs

Captions for photographs are not required but are highly recommended. They may be submitted in
e-mail format and must be referenced to the appropriate photographs.



Web Site Submissions

All submissions should be sent directly to the Webmaster and should be addressed to
"Assembly Web Site."

Update Submissions

Update information must be submitted in writing. This can be done either as an e-mail or as a file
attached to an e-mail.

Article Submissions

All articles submitted for posting on the web site must be converted to HTML format before they can be
read on the Internet. This job is handled by the Webmaster when the article is received and posted to
the web site. To expedite this process please submit articles as follows:

Using a Windows computer Operating System

- A MS Word file attached to an e-mail.

Using a Macintosh computer Operating System (OS 8.6 or higher)

- A MS Word file or an Appleworks file attached to an e-mail.

PDF File Submissions

PDF files may be submitted and posted as they are and will appear as links on the web site. Please
submit them as e-mail attachments.

PDF documents and posters that need to be viewed directly on the web site will be converted to
graphics files and then posted.

Graphics & Photograph Submissions

All graphics and photographs should be submitted as e-mail attachments or given to the Webmaster on
either a CD or Zip disk. Graphic and photograph formats are universal, there are no computer Operating
System requirements.

Format Requirements

- All photographs should be submitted with a resolution of 72 dpi.

- Image names (such as photo1.jpg, etc.) are at the discretion of the sender.

Image Size Requirements

- Graphics should be submitted in their original size, they will be re-sized as necessary.

- Photographs must be a minimum size of 3" wide, there is no minimum length.

- If the enlargement option is desired photographs must be a minimum size of 8" x 10."

Enlargement Option

The enlargement option allows a photograph to be viewed as an enlargement by clicking on that photo
as it appears on the web site. This feature is available on request and is very popular with site
visitors
.

To provide this option the webmaster starts with a larger photo and then creates the smaller photo that
is seen on the web site from the larger one. The smaller photo is posted on the site and linked to the
larger one, both photos are then uploaded to the server.

Captions for Photographs
